Audiobook News: Olympic Reading

Posted in audiobooks, life with tags , , , , on August 16, 2016 by Robin Eller

Recorded Books posted a blog called 14 Gold Medal Audiobooks. I was excited to see on their list, Catch A Star: Shining Through Adversity To Become A Champion by Tamika Catchings. This title took me on a journey of Tamika’s childhood and increased my knowledge of women’s basketball.  Her perseverance is admirable. I especially enjoyed reading about the lessons learned and the player she became under the leadership of legendary coach, Pat Summit.  Named one of the top 15 WNBA players in history, Catchings already has three gold medals and on her quest to a fourth in Rio. GO TEAM USA!  Her  Catch A Star Foundation is creating dreams for other young people. Incredible!  I’m grateful to Christian Audio for this inspiring title written by an inspiring woman.

There’s an extraordinary feeling about witnessing a friend’s dream come to fruition.  I’m thrilled to celebrate my friend and colleague Amy Rubinate.  Along with being an incredibly hardworking audiobook narrator, Amy just launched her new company Ideal Audiobooks.  Her slogan, Stories With Heart is a perfect description for Amy.  She has one of the most generous hearts that I have ever encountered. I’m blessed to have been a recipient of her incredible generosity.  Cheers to Amy’s new journey!  Drop by Ideal Audiobooks and grab one of these titles to add to your listening list.  These titles are read by extraordinary women narrators. WORKING NEWS- WALMART COMMERCIAL

Posted in life with tags , , , on April 3, 2015 by Robin Eller

I’ve been so busy recording books that I haven’t had the chance to share my news. (updates on audiobooks coming)

NEWS: I have a Walmart national commercial that has been running for the past two weeks. I suspect you will see it a lot in the next couple of days because it was themed around Easter (‘Pasqua” in Italian). There could be other versions of the commercial to be shown off season. Fingers crossed.  In the meantime, I’ll continue to sit in gratitude for one of the “avails” turning into a booking in my favor. 🙂  It’s always the luck of the draw.  #GRATEFUL  My friend Lisa caught the spot on NBC, took a still with her phone, then posted this pic on Facebook.  I’m thrilled she took the time to post this because I was not paying attention. Friends are truly a treasure that can never be taken for granted. Click on the title and take a peek at my Walmart TV Spot  GRAZIE!

Easter Surprise..

June Is Audiobook Month (#JIAM 2012)- What Are You Listening To?

Posted in life with tags , , , , , , , on June 25, 2012 by Robin Eller

The month of June has been Audiobook Month. Oh time has not been on my side to post about this until now. Mamma Mia! There have been so many great posts promoting Audiobooks this month. Have you ever listened to an audiobook? I do have some favorite Narrators that I aspire to be like. I also hope to come close to recording as many books as they have been so fortunate to record: Dion Graham, Cassandra Campbell, Scott Brick, Johnny Heller, Katy Kellgren, Tavia Gilbert, Simon Vance, Simon Prebble, Grover Gardner, Robin Miles, Coleen Marlo, Mirron Willis, Hilary Huber, Kathe Mazur, Robin Sachs and the list goes on. My horizon has becoming brighter as I journey down the road as an Audiobook Narrator. One day I’ll be looking back at this post and having that “I remember when..moment.”

Here’s to books! If you haven’t listened to an Audiobook.. go ahead.. I dare you! Why not try one in support of Audiobook Month? There are still five days left in this month and there’s still the rest of the year to give a listen or two.. or even three! You might not like your first one. I’ll tell you a secret… I didn’t. However, I didn’t give up because I knew that I would find books and Narrators that I would enjoy listening to and I have. I salute my fellow Narrators: Thank you to those narrators who have paved the way for me to have become a member of a very special group. We love to tell stories and truly care about the way we tell these stories for the author.
