International Women’s Day – La Festa Delle Donne

Posted in friends, life with tags , , , on March 8, 2016 by Robin Eller

In Italy, it is customary to give yellow mimosas to women on International Women’s Day (La Festa Delle Donne).  I have been sending virtual mimosas to the circle of strong, inspiring, thoughtful, beautiful and loving women in my  world. How lucky am I to have this phenomenal group that extends around the globe!  I am eternally grateful for the joy that each unique woman brings to my life by just being herself.

To Every Wonderful Woman Around The World:  I SALUTE YOU TOO!

Happy International Women’s Day to All = Buona Feste Delle Donne Delle Donne a tutte!

In honor of another inspiring woman, I leave this quote to encourage all women to continue to just… BE!

“I would like to be known as an intelligent woman, a courageous woman, a loving woman, a woman who teaches by being.”  Maya Angelou

June Is Audiobook Month (#JIAM 2012)- What Are You Listening To?

Posted in life with tags , , , , , , , on June 25, 2012 by Robin Eller

The month of June has been Audiobook Month. Oh time has not been on my side to post about this until now. Mamma Mia! There have been so many great posts promoting Audiobooks this month. Have you ever listened to an audiobook? I do have some favorite Narrators that I aspire to be like. I also hope to come close to recording as many books as they have been so fortunate to record: Dion Graham, Cassandra Campbell, Scott Brick, Johnny Heller, Katy Kellgren, Tavia Gilbert, Simon Vance, Simon Prebble, Grover Gardner, Robin Miles, Coleen Marlo, Mirron Willis, Hilary Huber, Kathe Mazur, Robin Sachs and the list goes on. My horizon has becoming brighter as I journey down the road as an Audiobook Narrator. One day I’ll be looking back at this post and having that “I remember when..moment.”

Here’s to books! If you haven’t listened to an Audiobook.. go ahead.. I dare you! Why not try one in support of Audiobook Month? There are still five days left in this month and there’s still the rest of the year to give a listen or two.. or even three! You might not like your first one. I’ll tell you a secret… I didn’t. However, I didn’t give up because I knew that I would find books and Narrators that I would enjoy listening to and I have. I salute my fellow Narrators: Thank you to those narrators who have paved the way for me to have become a member of a very special group. We love to tell stories and truly care about the way we tell these stories for the author.

You Can’t Please Everyone

Posted in life with tags , , , on May 3, 2012 by Robin Eller

And I’ve learned to stop trying to please everyone. This photo says it all. I think I’m going to have to exorcise Thursday’s energy the way I have changed my Tuesday.  Thursday will be good, I insist.

New Tuesday Attitude

Posted in life with tags , , , , on May 1, 2012 by Robin Eller

Usually Tuesday is the day that I detest. Mondays are usually calm and Tuesday were named “Tumultuous Tuesdays.”  There is usually so much chaos on Tuesdays; however the past Tuesdays have not been crazy.  Hurray! I decided that I had to change my attitude and stop projecting a terrible Tuesday into the universe.  For the past two weeks I have not thought about what Tuesday will be like on Monday. Instead, I have chosen to take one day at a time and accept whatever comes with the following day.  There is truly something to the saying, “Change your thoughts, change your world.”

Today’s theme song is from one of my favorite movies, West Side Story. I decided to use the version of Something’s Coming by Johnny Mathis

Theme Song Today

What a day!  It was a roller coaster. I’m a sports fan. I am saddened, shocked, disgusted and ashamed at the behavior of the Boston Bruin fans who chose to show the ugly side of their city. This speaks volumes about the number of classless people living in Boston. Yes, I’m from New England and I’ve been to Boston. There is no excuse for racist remarks in Boston or anywhere for that matter. I read that one Twitter user attempted to recant his statement and say, “I’m not racist, it was a joke.”  Really Mr Twitter User?? Why would words motivated by pure malice flow so freely out of your mouth in the first place?? It’s a little late for attempts to crawl out of the very deep hole he has dug for himself. Okay, I’ve vented about it. Bravo to Joel Ward for the classy manner in which he handled this ugly situation. Hey kids and ignorant adults: Once you put something out there in cyberspace, it’s not easy to take back.

This song spoke to me as the theme song of choice. To end a very long day & night here is: Praying For Time by Carrie Underwood.

Theme Song to One’s Life

I found the photo that reiterates the question of my previous post. What theme song would my life be? Pondering… I think I might find one for a daily or weekly inspiration. To be continued…

Task & Focus

Posted in life with tags , , , on April 24, 2012 by Robin Eller

After an amazing Monday. Tuesday is always a day of juggling so many tasks.  Yesterday was about making time for myself and now I’m ready to focus. This is my first post for 2012. No time like the end of April to start.

First and foremost, this photo made me miss Italy.  Secondly, it evoked a question: If my life were a song. What would song would it be at this time of my life?? Hmmm.. I have to pick a good one. To be continued.
